Many Mortgage Brokers offer other financial services, and can often arrange mortgage cover, where your bank or building society is unable to help. With the competition for funds being quite buoyant, it would be a good idea to shop around. Be prepared to pay a premium for using a mortgage broker. It may well be in the form of an up-front payment required, or simply the creaming off of a hefty commission from the mortgage company.

 

 

All of this will be reflected in the ultimate cost of your mortgage. A mortgage broker is often the only course of action for certain types of borrowers. In difficult cases, your mortgage broker will have to spend additional time securing your house mortgage, so don't begrudge the commission that he/she gets. Make sure that you are aware of these costs befor finalising - or even before starting the mortgage hunting process.
